CMW First Periodic Report of the Philippines

The Philippines has ratified the Migrant Workers Convention on July 5, 1995. As part of the reporting requirements of the Convention, the State Party is obliged to submit a periodic report every 5 years to monitor the compliance of the State party with the Convention. For the First Reporting Period the State Party submits a State report. Based on that, the UN Committee on Migrant Workers (CMW) then identifies a List of Issues Prior to Reporting (LOIPR). After the LOIPR is issued, the State Party must respond by submitting a State Reply. Stakeholders from the Civil Society are likewise, invited to submit their respective reports. To explain the UN Committee on Migrant Workers reporting procedures a handbook (Preparing for the Treaty Reporting…) is posted below. This is followed by the initial State Report of the Philippines, the UN Committee on Migrant Workers’ List of Issues Prior to Reporting, the State and Civil Society Response to the LOIPR, and the UN Committee on Migrant Workers’ Concluding Observations.
